Maundy Thurs to Easter Day
The three days between Maundy Thursday are often thought of as ‘one service’. It is the Triuudum – the three days.
Come and join us to journey through this time with Jesus.
Maundy Thursday – 7pm. Here we will remember Jesus’ Passover, his washing of feet and the Last Supper. We will strip the church in preparation for Good Friday and leave the church in silence and darkness.
Good Friday – 10am – the churches of Portobello will gather at PJPC and then walk to St John’s Brighton Place, remembering Jesus’ walk with the cross from Pilate’s headquarters to Golgotha, where he was crucified.
12-3pm – During this time, we remember Jesus hanging on the cross. St Mark’s will be open for reflection and quiet prayer. There will be materials which may help you in your prayer, centring around the Seven Last Words from the Cross. At 2.30pm we will gather together for a short act of worship.
Easter Day – 7am – the churches of Portobello meet at the bonfire on the beach in Joppa, followed by breakfast at PJPC.
10.30 – our joyous celebration of Holy Communion for Easter Day, including an opportunity to renew your baptism vows.
