On Saturday 27th September, the church will be open as part of the Cockburn Association’s Open Doors day. 10am-4pm We will have a display about our ongoing preservation of the wall, including the opportunity to talk with the stonemason in the afternoon, there will be volunteers to talk about the building and graveyard, initial plans…
Holy Week is the week when we remember the last few days of Jesus’ life and his walk of love. During the week, he came to Jerusalem hailed as a king, and then showed what a king truly is. He taught his friends, was anointed by Mary at Bethany, and then gave us two rituals…
We welcome you to Holy Communion with imposition of ashes 10am and 7pm on Wednesday 5 March. During Lent there is Morning Prayer 9.30am daily Monday-Thursday Discussion Group on Mondays after Morning Prayer – finished by 11.30 at latest. Discussion after church on Sunday 23rd March. Come to our FebFest on Saturday 7th February, 11am-1pm. Coffee, tea, cakes, bacon rolls… Books, gifts, homebaking, cards…. Raffle, children’s activities .. Talking and friendship … In aid of the church. 10% of all fundraising is donated to our three nominated charities for the year – Mary’s Meals, Basics Bank and WaterAid. Pdf poster here…
At 5pm here at St Mark’s, an Advent Service with all the churches in Portobello with a collection for the work of Christian Aid – all welcome!
